Fuelling bold futures

At Games Global, we’re committed to supporting promising graduates in the early stages of their careers, providing a springboard for future success.

Through our 12-month Games Global Graduate Programme, we’re doing just that, offering invaluable on-the-job training in our Cape Town and Durban offices.

Sapho Nkunzi is one such grad who has benefitted from the experience. Having excelled during his time as a Games Global graduate developer, he recently landed a full-time role as a level 1 developer. We found out more about his success story so far….

Why did you choose a career in software development?

I chose this career because I wanted to participate in exciting challenges in the field of software development. Every day I get an opportunity to solve a new problem. This type of work brings me personal satisfaction. Although it is a the steep learning curve, I am able to collaborate and learn from knowledgeable and talented individuals.

What is your highlight in the Games Global Graduate Programme?

The greatest highlight for me was the opportunity to work on different software development projects within the Games Global - software infrastructure and game building tooling, as well as working in cross-functional teams where I was able to grasp software development skills and quality assurance fundamentals.

What you are looking forward to in your new role?

I am looking forward to tackling interesting technical problems and contributing meaningfully to Games Global. I look forward to growing my skills and adding value to my team. I am also looking forward to pushing my limits and realise my full potential.

What did you study and what did you enjoy about your studies?

I studied Financial Information Systems and Accountancy at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology. I mainly enjoyed Systems Analysis Design and Computer Programming, which is why I chose to pursue a career in software development afterwards. My love for development pushed me to also grow my skills outside of my studies to learn new languages and concepts.

Where do you see yourself in the future?

In the near future, I see myself as an established developer. I want to be able to utilise my skills in business and technology to add value in the IT space. I have a lot to offer and want to continuously solve complex problems.
